Premier Technology Trial

MPedigree has successfully validated the concept of cellular-based drug authentication in resource deprived environments. In January 2008, mPedigree initiated a technology trial using novel mobile-based drug authentication technology in Accra, Ghana. The trial included a free SMS-based authentication service for drug patrons in the cities of Kumasi and Accra, Ghana. Being a novel service, trial survey agents were stationed to provide assistance in the authentication process when needed, while administering a client-intercept survey to gather valuable data on the awareness and prevalence of fake drugs in Ghana. Such data gathered directly from citizenry provide invaluable input in anti-counterfeit policy design, technology evolution and social marketing efforts.
